The story: Plan b (part II)

Have you ever had to turn to plan b? I remember a specific time in my life not so long ago, when it seemed like so many of the dreams I had prayed for, planned for and worked hard for would come true. They were so close I could touch them. I had found the woman who I was sure would become my wife; I had a great position with a large international company and was only $3000.00 dollars away from completing a complete renovation on my first house. It seemed as though finally, all the stars had aligned and everything was starting to make sense and that all my prayers and tears we beginning to pay off.

Shortly after this, in just a few short months everything I had worked for and prayed for feel apart. The relationship ended as did the career and in turn the house never saw it’s last nail.

No one could see this coming. What do you do when you find that all your efforts have been in vein? King Solomon became a close friend of mine during this time: Vanity of vanity, it is all in vein.

I could associate with him, he understood that everything we do, every dream when have, that every possession we own becomes all for not.

What do you tell your self when Mr. or Ms. Perfect fall so short of whom you believed them to be, or all you friends leave and you are left alone to sit in the ashes much like Job. How do you tell your self that maybe this wasn’t the right path and that after all this time you can look for plan B.

Feel free to comment!

I’m so sorry that this happened for you (just stumbled across your post today). The last couple of years have been tough for me but I really got to know God deeper through the trials. I feel for you though, I don’t think that many things have gone that great in my life so I didn’t have that much to lose.

I have found Job to be an incredibly encouraging book in tough times. That God let him be tested because of his faith is an amazing thing. And to remember that Job’s friends didn’t get it, helpful when you have the naysayers around you. Hang in there!
