Bio

I am a writer; blogger and Mac addict living in Portland, Oregon. I’m newly married to Rosa and am attempting to be a good husband. I often feel like I am a tightrope walker in a circus with hundreds of people looking on from the crowd watching to see if I will fall.
I left religion (a system of beliefs) because it left me struggling to reconcile true faith in Jesus. This struggle led me through out Australia’s cities, small towns and outback in search of God, light and relevance. My writing has been featured in such magazines as Relevant Magazine, Valley Faith, The Burnside Writes Collective, The Bohemian Alien and has been featured in other blogs nationwide and typically reflects upon generational upheaval, social injustices, human suffering and the plight of homelessness.
I still believe that the gospel of Jesus is a mysterious and relational experience and that Christian spirituality helps explain the human condition’s need for truth, light and meaning. As of late, I have been working on settling into my new city, writing a book titled “Running to stand still” which discusses the epidemic of religious burn out and paradox, sexual temptation, the battles between darkness and light, disheartening challenges and grace.
I’ve been hoping and thinking of setting up a web site for this project. I am learning to be all the things I’ve always wished I could be – but have struggled in becoming. And if you find any of this interesting, I remain available to speak to groups or for interviews through radio and podcasts. Keep in mind some of my favorite topics include social justice and the human struggle, religious burnout, sexual purity and addiction. – One more thing, I love coffee. No really, I’m serious… Read excerpts from
